Disney heeft aangekondigd dat het social gaming ontwikkelaar Playdom heeft opgekocht voor $563.2 miljoen.
Playdom
Playdom staat bekend om haar sociale titels als Sorority Life, market Street, Social City en Bola. Deze games tellen gezamenlijk zo’n 42 miljoen actieve spelers. De ontwikkelaar telt 15 studio’s. Voormalig EA COO John Pleasants ging in juni 2009 aan de slag als de nieuwe CEO. Hij zal nu de rol van vice president bij Disney Interactive Media Group bekleden, en als general manager bij Playdom.
