Splinter Cell Trilogy bevestigd door Ubisoft
Morgen komt officieel de Prince of Persia Trilogy uit. Deze collectie zal de drie PlayStation®2-klassiekers “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time”, “Prince of Persia: Warrior Within” en “Prince of Perisa: The Two Thrones” bevatten. Ubisoft is blij dat het deze oude titels terug kan brengen naar het HD-tijdperk, en ziet meer animo voor nog een andere collectie… We leren namelijk vandaag dat Ubisoft, naast de Prince of Persia Trilogy, ook een Splinter Cell Trilogy aan het creëren is. Toch geen Splinter Cell: Conviction voor PS3?
Iedereen die toch nog dat kleine sprankje hoop had dat Splinter Cell: Conviction toch op de Playstation®3 zou uitkomen, wordt helaas bruut wakker geschud door Ubisoft. Met klem bevestigen ze dat Conviction een Xbox 360 exclusive is, en dat het zo zal blijven. Of misschien toch niet? Onlangs deed de geruchtenmolen goed zijn werk met de redenering dat Conviction een eventuele PS3 release zou zien. Niets is minder waar, blijkt nu. Toch toekomst voor Splinter Cell op PS3™?
Creative director Max Beland spreekt zich uit over toekomstige game(s) uit de Splinter Cell serie. Toen gevraagd werd aan de creative director van Splinter Cell: Conviction of de game nog een toekomst heeft op de Playstation®3 antwoordde Beland met de opmerking dat Conviction het niet gaat worden, maar een volgende game heeft alle potentie. I don’t see why it wouldn’t. I’m not involved in the business deals. I joined Splinter Cell after the exclusivity deal with Microsoft had already been signed, but there’s no reason why Splinter Cell couldn’t be on the PS3. Conviction? No because of the exclusivity deal. I know people keep talking about maybe, maybe not, at Ubisoft Montreal I haven’t seen anyone working on PS3 for Conviction. The next game is open to new deals. If Microsoft wants an exclusivity deal, they don’t call me, it’s Yves [Guillemot, Ubisoft CEO] dealing with the business people. But yeah, I guess we could even be a PS3 exclusive if there’s a deal that makes people
